Concept project
Cedar Roasters
A roaster's site that sells beans and fills the cafe.
Cedar Roasters is a small-batch roaster in Ballard. This concept shows how I would build a site for a business like it.
Most roaster sites bury the two things a local customer wants: what is roasting this week, and when the cafe is open. I put both on the home page. Each coffee gets its own page, named for what people search for, such as “Ethiopia Guji light roast”, with the origin, the tasting notes and a buy button.
The layout is simple on purpose. Photos are sized for a phone, the type is large, and every page has one next step. The result is a site that is quick to load, easy to browse and clear to a search engine.
